Final Fantasy 7dc

Final Fantasy 7DC

Dirge of Cerberus takes place three years after the events of Final Fantasy VII. It has been described as a shooter RPG, meaning it has borrowed game play aspects both from the first person shooter and RPG-genre. An official release date has been set by Square-Enix in Japan ; the game is scheduled to be in stores on the 26th of January.

The soundtrack for Dirge of Cerberus, composed by Masashi Hamauzu, has been announced to be released onto two different editions; a regular and limited version. The regular edition will have a price tag of 3,300 Yen (27 USD) and the limited edition will be on sale for 3, 900 Yen (32 USD.)

The limited edition of the soundtrack will come with a deluxe box called 'Cerberus Complete Case'; designed to hold the soundtrack, the game and Gackt's single release 'Redemption.'

The OST will be released on 2 discs on the 15th of February, 2006 and contain around 70 music tracks, including the main theme songs 'Redemption' and 'Longing', sung by the popular J apanese artist Gackt.

In charge of this innovative approach to create some sort of hybrid of action and RPG, we see Yoshinori Kitase, who's been part of the Square-Enix staff since the creation of such titles as Final Fantasy V and VI. (His first game was called Final Fantasy Adventure, and came out for the original four-color Game Boy in 1991.)

Another alter-ego worth mentioning is Tetsuya Nomura, obviously in charge of the clothing and character design of the game. As revealed earlier at this year's Jump Festa show, the inventiveness of his earlier works has not decreased one bit; Gackt's outfit 'Crimson Soldier' is quite impressive, to say the least. (Tetsuya Nomura started out as the monster designer of FFV for the SNES.)

Once again, we will see Shougo Suzuki acting as the voice for Vincent - he also acted as Vincent in FFVII: Advent Children.

Yoshinori Kitase has expressed his wishes to use the same voice actors as before throughout all of the titles of this compilation.

Not only does Gackt perform the two theme songs of Dirge of Cerberus, he has also been announced as one of the main characters of the game; using some sort of new technique where he will be filmed in live action, then combined with CGI. No details regarding his character have been revealed yet.

Other front people of this game's production are Takayoshi Nakazato, acting as director, and Yusuke Naora, the art supervisor of Dirge of Cerberus.
